A root canal is a dental intervention aimed at addressing an infected or inflamed tooth pulp, which constitutes the soft tissue within the tooth housing nerves and blood vessels. Dr. Larry Chemaly's approach entails the removal of the affected or compromised pulp, followed by meticulous cleaning and shaping of the tooth's interior. Subsequently, the tooth is filled and sealed to ward off any potential re-infection. Typically, a root canal is performed to salvage a tooth that is compromised or infected, averting the need for extraction. Following the procedure, a crown or another form of restoration may be affixed to the treated tooth, providing protection and restoring its functionality.
